Through the distributor RMVISTAR, the experienced saleswoman Rose Marie Vega developed a content franchise produced by and for women at a time when the empowerment of women is an everyday thing.
One of the titles of this franchise, the Argentine series La chica que limpia, by Germina Films, is being negotiated with a large studio to produce the series in English and in the US.
“That has us very excited” said Vega.
Another one of the offers that is in the catalog is the Canadian series Simone, a kind of Sex and the current city. It has had a good reception in the market.
The company is also opening a line of children’s content and already has 40 movies available.
They currently have a catalog of more than 1,500 hours of programming and Vega highlights the Aurora teagarden movie series by Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, which has been a success in the region.
In recent months, Vega’s company has signed agreements with Imagen TV (Mexico) and NBCU Latin America, which bought the Mystery and Romantic collections; DIRECTV Latin America acquired a programming package about JFK and the Kennedy family; A & E Latin America, The Kennedy’s: After Camelot (4×60′), miniseries about the Kennedys after the murder of JFK; and Televisa (Mexico and Latin America), the first season of The Fashion Hero, a format that is gaining popularity.
“The challenge is to keep up with the expanding business models and opportunities worldwide. The content is king, we must deliver it as canned, remake or format, whatever the client demands! “Said Vega.
The executive, who claims to love this industry, has more than 20 years of experience. She started as Director of Business Affairs at Universal Television. In 1997, she was appointed director of International Sales at NBC Enterprises, being responsible for the distribution of programs throughout Latin America.
She was then VP of Sales for Latin America and the US Hispanic of Alliance Atlantis and VP of International Distribution of HBO for Latin America, Spain and Portugal until opening her own company in 2012.
