The Worldwide Audiovisual Women’s Association (WAWA) was created in 2016 by Liliam Hernandez, Cecilia Gómez de la Torre and Gema Lopez and has maintained sustained growth since its foundation, consolidating year after year with an active presence worldwide.

Currently, the WAWA Board of Directors is lead by its Chairwoman, Roxana Rotundo, who serve with Analida Lopez, Carmen Larios, Cecilia Gomez de la Torre, Emilia Nuccio, Gabriela Rodriguez, Gisela Valcárcel, Kathy Cardenas, Liliam Hernandez, María Bonaria Fois, María Elena Paniza, María Eugenia Muci, Michelle Alexander, Rosemarie Morales, Susana Umbert

We are part of the most relevant trade events in the audiovisual industry, with an agenda that promotes strategic partnerships and business opportunities among all its members. Represented at Content Americas, Premios Platino, L.A. Screening, Conecta Fiction, Iberseries & Platino Industria, MIPCOM, MIP CANCÚN, International Emmy Awards, and Ventana Sur, among other events.

Since 2017, WAWA has annually presented the Women of the Year award, the association’s most prestigious accolade that celebrates the most outstanding professional of the year, based on the values of Leadership, Ethics, Diversity, and Commitment to the construction and strengthening of a more inclusive industry for all. This award is determined by the votes of all active members.
