On March 6th, WAWA hosted a special event featuring distinguished professionals in our industry, Patricia Jasin and Maria Alejandra Requena, to delve into the topic of “Strategies for navigating today’s changes”, both in personal and professional aspects of life. The event drew in a diverse audience eager to glean insights from industry veterans. Requena, with her impressive 25-year career in television, including a decade at CNN en Español, shared invaluable knowledge. Jasin, SVP of Content Sales of LATAM at Warner Bros., graciously hosted the event, adding to the enriching experience for the attendees seeking to deepen their industry knowledge.
Requena captivated the audience with her expertise in navigating change and uncertainty, offering invaluable advice, perspectives, and techniques. A phrase that resonated with the audience, “Although we don’t control change, we can control how we react to it,” summarized what she called the Preparation phase for change. She followed up by giving tips on (change) management techniques, starting with separating illusion from reality and being able to step out of your “comfort zone.” A key point was: “When you dwell on the complaints, you remain in your past without understanding your present. You need to act”.
Jasin also contributed to the enriching experience, emphasizing the importance of self-belief and seizing new opportunities. She reminded us, “It’s never too late to reinvent yourself and, above all, be resilient and use a period of change as a springboard, ” and encouraged attendees to open themselves to new experiences and trust in their abilities to navigate uncertainty.
The event concluded on a high note, as attendees left with renewed determination and a sense of camaraderie. Requena echoed this sentiment: “If you are going through a process of uncertainty and change, you are not alone. We are here to support you.”
