The State Radio and Television System of Panama (SERTV), and the World Association of Women in the Audiovisual Industry (WAWA), are pleased to confirm their alliance for the first production project of WAWA, which will premiere in 2021, MUJERES EXTRAORDINARIAS (EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN) series.
MUJERES EXTRAORDINARIAS, is a series produced by WAWA, with the general production of two talented professionals Carolina Cordero and María Eugenia Muci. Hosted by the respected international journalist María Elena Useche, also involved in executive production. WAWA had the vision of creating a product according to current needs. The idea is to pay tribute by recognizing the work of anonymous heroines around the world who impact the lives of many human beings from different areas of society. There will be 16 stories through 8 episodes.
Beyond a simple broadcast, the program is a franchise and under this alliance, we will show local stories of so many women who make their daily lives a heroic act, always with the seal of the SERTV newscast. We seek to impact and inspire the viewer in a strategy that will include all our platforms.
WAWA is a global non-profit organization; whose main interest is to maintain an active collaborative network through the knowledge and trajectory of professional women in the audiovisual industry.
On behalf of the WAWA Board of Directors composed of: Liliam Hernández, Cecilia Gómez de la Torre, Vanessa Velázquez, Maria Elena Useche, Maria Bonaria Fois, Analida López, Ana Cecilia Alvarado, Emilia Nuccio, Roxana Rotundo and Susana Umbert we feel very happy with the closing of this first TV screen, we are sure it will be the first of many.
In the midst of the difficult times we are living in, WAWA managed to unite many professionals and develop seminars, workshops and this first production which we proudly present.
Roxana Rotundo, Chairwomen of the Board of Directors of WAWA said: “For us in our organization this alliance with SERTV is a pride, a channel whose leader is a woman who is clear about the historical moment that we live and what the new generations ask for: Gender Equality and respect for human rights. Our first series wanted to honor those women who by their own choice live extraordinary lives helping others and now with SERTV we will meet many of those women who live in Panama”.
Giselle González Villaruebe, General Director of SERTV said: “With this alliance SERTV takes a firm step towards achieving a great goal set to become a benchmark state channel in the region for its quality content that generates value for the citizen-audience, while reaffirming our commitment to contribute to gender equality
