After 18 years in Telemundo Internacional, Esperanza Garay embarks as CEO in the new distribution company of Holding Mega, which starting in LA Screenings will market all the content for the Chilean network.
As a result of an association between Mega from Chile and Esperanza Garay, Mega Global Entertainment (MGE) is born, a distributor that will market all the fiction content and entertainment formats for the Chilean channel.
Garay, who will be the CEO of MGE, will start a new chapter after 18 years at Telemundo Internacional, a company which distributed Mega’s catalogue from 2015 to 2017.
We trust in the enormous trajectory of Esperanza Garay and her team to take Mega Global Entertainment to a position of maximum prestige, “said Patricio Hernández, CEO of Holding Mega.
He added: “This step is fundamental for Mega’s international projections. The sale of our content and productions should permeate the five continents and be on all available platforms. ”
Esperanza Garay said:
“I am extremely proud to be part of the Mega group and to start a project of this nature with which we plan to take Mega TV to the next level in its international projection”.
MGE will begin its operations at the LA Screenings (Suite 616), where it will arrive with a portfolio of proven Mega successes, including the soap operas Papis, Pituca sin lucas, Papa a la deriva and Perdona nuestros pecados, as well as the realities Amor a Prueba, Volverias con tu ex, and Doble tentación, among others.
In addition to the Mega catalog, MGE will also add all the content and formats of Zona A, a Bogota-based company that represents writers from several countries and offers a diverse range of films, series, miniseries and soap operas.
Esperanza Garay began her career in 1990 as a founding partner of Zebracom Internacional, a content distributor for film, video, TV and cable platforms.
Later and until last month, she served as Senior VP of International Sales and Acquisitions for Telemundo Internacional, managing the entire Latin American region, and played a key role in building and strengthening the company’s relationships with major clients throughout the region, and in other regions.
Mega has been the leading free TV channel in Chile since 2014. It belongs to the economic group Bethia, a holding that brings together companies such as Falabella, Latam Airlines Group, Health Hive, Aguas Andinas and Ancali, among others.
In May 2016, Discovery Communications acquired 27.5% of the channel’s shares, as part of an important agreement to enhance its internationalization.
