WAWA Woman of the Year Award 2021

Last January 22th, 2021, in an event that joined more than 115 executives of the audiovisual industry, was held the WAWA’s Award Ceremony to recognize the most distinguished executive of 2020.

In this opportunity,  in a tight vote, Cynthia Hudson was chosen to receive the recognition that seeks to highlight the important role played by women within the industry  that represents the essences of WAWA as an organization.

“For a long time, women have had to fight for recognition in this industry,
but we have shown that with our own work and  merits, we can reach everything we deserve”.

The executive, who is currently Senior Vice President and General Director of CNN en Español, company she joined in 2010, is part of the Board of InterAmerican Society of Press (Sociedad Interamericana de Prensa).

Among her many achievements, she won the Leading Ladies of Entertainment 2018, intended for professionals who have contributed significantly to the art and entertainment industry. Before being part of CNN, Hudson worked in  prominent organizations such as Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) and Mega TV.

 

Upon receiving the WAWA Woman of the Year Award 2020, Hudson expressed she was very honored and surprised: “I’m very excited. I didn’t expect it among so many admirable women. It has been a year of challenges but  we were able to move forward.!
